On our holiday we stayed with my brother Peter and his family. They have a budgie, which they adopted after it flew into my niece's work one day and wouldn't leave. Carl is quite playful and seems fascinated by lids, fingernails and anything he can see his reflection in. He wasn't sure what to think when he got on my shoulder and I started wheeling around though. Now I'm wondering if I can get a budgie for a "service bird", which would let me take it anywhere. Not sure how good a budgie would be at getting the newspaper or my slippers though...
