A big meal at the end of a big day
Today I finally did a transfer from the wheelchair to the mat on my own, with someone just watching over me. I was pretty happy with that, as it opens a whole new scope of possibilities - getting into bed, a car, or onto a couch. I tried a few more later in the day, but for now they're a lot of work and really wear me out. Doing a transfer was one of my goals from day 1 here at the Casa, so I guess I have to think of something else now.
The doctors still have me on an appetite stimulant, and I'm on double portions for dinner every night. The picture is a typical dinner - I can finish that off and still be hungry a couple of hours later. I don't know where it all goes! If I don't have a snack just before I go to bed, I usually wake up around 4:00 in the morning wondering what's for breakfast. It's all working though, I'm gaining weight quick and should be back to normal in just a few weeks.

ReplyDeleteHi from Seattle. I haven't posted a comment in a long time but I am following your progress almost every day. The post from yesterday was really nice and your adaptation to your new life is truly inspiring! Keep up the posts and progress! I dunno but could there be some go-cart racing in your future???? I saw those carts run a Laguna a few years ago at the MotoGP race and that looked like huge fun. All the best!
