In our search for wheelchair-friendly parks and paths, we stumbled on the Great Wall of Los Angeles, a mural painted in one of the local river basins that is half a mile long and covers the history of California. It was started in 1974 and took five summers to paint, with the artwork depicting everything from prehistoric man through civil rights in the '60s. The Social and Public Art Resource Center has more information and pictures of the entire mural.
