Glad to Know Yah Punkin

1_22_bPunkinhead Martin—Merrie Melodies

You can’t tell by the black and white photo that Andrew’s beard is growing in red or “ginger” as his mum says in her nice British accent. As for me he’s starting to remind me of the red-haired hillbilly, Punkinhead Martin from the Merrie Melodies cartoon Hillbilly Hare. You can watch it here if you’ve forgotten or not familiar with this cartoon classic.

All kidding aside Andrew does seem to be enjoying his mountain man look. For now I hope? —deb

  1. That's hilarious Deb! But on closer examination, Punkinhead only has one tooth, while Andrew is missing one tooth. The obvious conclusion is that Andrew is......The Anti-Punkinhead! Keep him from square dancing into any nearby hay balers!

"Tales from The Anti-Punkinhead!" should become the other name for the blog.

  6. Andrew, I thought about you today when I heard a story on NPR about a company, Geron, starting human trials on embryonic stem cell that may help repair spinal cord injuries. I think I heard them starting the trial on 10 patients. I thought your family could look into this story.

  7. Hey, Andrew, I've been growing a beard since the first picture I saw of you with full facial hair. A small token of support perhaps, but, hey, hockey players do it in the finals...

  8. Just found this blog.

You really been through hell, man. I'm on the tail end of the big one myself.

If it wasn't this, it was gonna be something else Trev. Stuff like this is what happens to guys like us sometimes. Not much silver lining in that, but you know it's true. We'll be defining our lives as before and after that day... but we're lucky to be able to do it.

Thank God (or whatever) that we have our friends and families, eh?

Just wanted to let you know that a lot of us are with you... but some of us are really with you.

    I'll be back.

  9. You don't know me, but we are all pulling for you.

Get well soon, so we can party when you get out of rehab.

  10. Would it be possible to get an update on Andrews injuries/prognosis? We are all following his progress closely and it would be nice to know what is going on with his situation. I read this blog every day but I have no idea what is the overall big picture. Thanks!!!!
