Zzzzzz

It's bee a busy and productive couple of days. Sunday at home was great, we had some visitors and spent most of the day relaxing in the apartment. All the bathroom equipment is there and installed, and I tried out the benches - no trouble there. Today I went to the orthopedic surgeon to see how my elbow is coming along. I've gained about 10 degrees in both directions, the doctor wasn't super happy about that but I did lose a week with the infection and hospital stay. In therapy today I lifted myself onto a 12-inch bolster (with a little bit of help) in preparation for fall recovery. Previously, I couldn't even get my arms up behind me that high, now it's a bit of a stretch but I can reach.

We've made plans for my first overnight stay at home for this coming weekend, I'll be heading home on Saturday afternoon, coming back on Sunday. I'm ready for it as far as doing the transfers and all the evening and morning tasks, so hopefully it will all go smoothly. I'm not sure how well I'll sleep in my own bed that I haven't slept in for almost eight months though, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

  1. So proud of your progress in that elbow. I remember when it moved only a few degrees in either direction. Wait. I remember when you didn't move it at all!
    Way to go!!!

  2. Yeah, way to go man.

I cannot image how much you have to be looking forward to being able to stay at your own place, even if it is only for a night. I'm sure it feels like's it has been forever since you were able to sleep in your own bed! I'll be praying that all goes well for ya!
