Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot
One of my friends recently sent me this book, "Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot", the autobiography of John Callahan. You've probably seen Mr. Callahan's cartoons at some point, they have a distinctive style and his work has been in many different magazines and newspapers. He was a quadriplegic and recovering alcoholic, which gave him an interesting take on life in general; his cartoons were often controversial and many made light of disabled people and their predicaments. The book was a good read, and I could relate to many of the cartoons included - especially the How to Relate to Handicapped People guide.
Unfortunately Mr. Callahan died just a few weeks ago. You can check out some of his work as well as other books he's written at www.callahanonline.com.
