Easily Pleased!

train
Stickin' it to the man!

Last week Debbie and I had to go downtown, so instead of driving and paying a king's ransom for parking, we decided to take the train. I had taken the train from the Casa to Pasadena when I was in rehab, and I didn't think it would be much of a problem. What I had forgotten though, was that disabled people ride for just 25 cents as opposed to $1.50 for the regular fare. Score!

All joking aside, the trip was easy and the subway is fairly accessible. I say fairly because at the station downtown we had to take three different elevators to get from platform level to the street, and two of them were tucked away in little corners of the station where you'd never think to look. Downtown LA is surprisingly hilly and there's a big hill between our apartment and the station at our end, so the day turned into a lot of wheeling and wore me out. It was nice to go downtown though, and now we know I can get there easily enough.

  1. Sounds like an adventure! I do notice these days that elevators can be located kinda off the beaten path, but, hey, you've got wheels!
